A.I., p. Benanti: potere in mano di pochi, servono programmatori

Rimini, 23 ago. (askanews) - Il 99,65% della popolazione non è in grado di programmare un computer. Occorre quindi affrontare la "sfida educativa" per evitare che "il potere" della tecnologia sia concentrato "nelle mani di pochissimi". Lo ha detto padre Paolo Benanti, docente all'Università Gregoriana e presidente della Commissione per l'Intelligenza Artificiale presso la Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri, a margine di un incontro al Meeting di Rimini. "Secondo le statistiche ufficiali - ha spiegato p. Benanti - al mondo ci sono solo 28 milioni di programmatori" a fronte di una popolazione di 8 miliardi. Questo significa che "il 99,65% della popolazione non è in grado di programmare queste macchine a cui stiamo affidando il nostro futuro". "Dobbiamo poterle programmare tutti? No, però - ha proseguito p. Benanti - se non sappiamo come funzionano questo significa concentrare il potere nelle mani di pochissimi. Questo è un problema che ci apre alla più grande delle sfide, quella educativa". "L'intelligenza artificiale - ha precisato il docente - sarà uno strumento a vantaggio di pochissimi se non sapremo appropriarcene. Come abbiamo fatto in passato, attraverso la cultura, formando l'educazione pubblica. C'è bisogno di creare una cultura adatta perché questa innovazione sia veramente per tutti".
