Circa il 70% della superficie terreste è ricoperta da acqua e oceani, la restante parte da Grigor Dimitrov. Il tennista bulgaro ha dato sfoggio di tutto il suo talento e dinamismo per riuscire a trafiggere un avversario d'eccezione: l'astro nascente del tennis italiano e mondiale Jannik Sinner. I due si sono affrontati nei quarti di finale del Roland Garros, uno dei più prestigiosi grandi slam del circuito Atp che ha sede in Francia, a Parigi: alla fine vince Jannik in tre set, un rullo compressore, il tutto proprio mentre diventava numero 1 al mondo, primo italiano nella storia, in virtù del ritiro di Novak Djokovic dal Roland Garros. Ma dicevamo: il bulgaro classe '91 ha dato prova di grande abilità quando, dopo una serie di scambi interminabili, ha sferrato un colpo da maestro. E l'altoatesino non ha potuto fare altro che osservare e incassare. Jannik Sinner, forte del turno di servizio, conduce lo scambio a suon di martellate. E Dimitrov, in qualche modo, respinge ogni tentativo di colpo vincente, quasi a dire: "Da qui non si passa". Poi l'altoatesino lo invita a rete con una palla corta velenosa. E a quel punto, il tennista bulgaro lo sorprende con una palla angolata. Impossibile da respingere. Pugno alzato, 15 pari: si va avanti. E intanto il pubblico applaude festoso, consapevole di stare assistendo a uno spettacolo d'eccezione. Fin dal 2008, quando è entrato nel parterre dei professionisti. I suoi maggiori successi nel circuito maggiore sono le ATP Finals e il Cincinnati Open (siglati entrambi nel 2017). Nei tornei del Grande Slam ha invece disputato le semifinali a Wimbledon 2014, Australian Open 2017 e US Open 2019. Vanta come best ranking la 3ª posizione, raggiunta il 20 novembre 2017. Ma contro Jannik, nonostante il colpo da maestro, c'è davvero ben poco da fare...
