Assalto alla Spagna: i migranti arrivano a nuoto, tensione alle stelle alla frontiera di Ceuta

Decine di migranti hanno raggiunto a nuoto l'enclave spagnola di Ceuta dal vicino Marocco. Le due enclave spagnole - Ceuta e Melilla due microcittà di poche decine di chilometri quadrati sulla costa mediterranea del Marocco, sono le uniche, nell'Ue, a condividere dei confini terrestri con l'Africa. Per questo i loro territori sperimentano sporadicamente tentativi di attraversamento da parte di migranti irregolari che cercano di raggiungere l'Europa. Inoltre il Marocco è considerato un “gendarme” meno cruento della Turchia. «Molti dei migranti arrivati nelle ultime 24 ore sono stati intercettati al largo o sulla spiaggia di Tarajal, sul limite meridionale dell'enclave di Ceuta, vicino al confine con il Marocco», ha detto alla Reuters un portavoce della Guardia Civil di Ceuta. «C'era pressione e l'abbiamo gestita con il Marocco», ha riferito il portavoce rifiutandosi tuttavia di precisare quante persone abbiano tentato di attraversare e quante siano state rimandate in Marocco. «Le persone che attraversano il confine vengono trattenute dalla polizia e rispedite in Marocco, a meno che non siano minorenni o richiedenti asilo», ha aggiunto il portavoce. Due anni fa almeno 23 persone sono morte in una calca quando circa 2mila migranti avevano cercato di entrare a Melilla, abbattendo la barriera di confine.
