"Aumentano cistiti e donne più colpite", i consigli di Bassetti

Milano, 23 lug. (Adnkronos Salute) - Può essere una scomoda compagna di vacanze, e rendere più complicati i giorni tanto sognati sotto l'ombrellone, fra mare e bagnasciuga. Estate tempo di cistite, soprattutto per la popolazione femminile. Secondo le stime, almeno una donna su 3 ne ha sofferto nella vita e fra queste c'è chi va incontro a forme ricorrenti. "Le cistiti, episodi fastidiosi di infezioni delle vie urinarie che colpiscono più facilmente le donne, sono molto più frequenti in estate per tante ragioni - spiega all'Adnkronos Salute Matteo Bassetti, direttore Malattie infettive dell'ospedale policlinico San Martino di Genova - Si beve meno acqua, in genere si hanno più rapporti sessuali" nella stagione delle vacanze "e la cistite, nelle donne sessualmente attive, è appunto spesso correlata direttamente ai rapporti sessuali". Altre condizioni che aumentano il rischio di incappare in una cistite sono per esempio "il costume bagnato - elenca ancora Bassetti - o degli indumenti particolarmente stretti che magari si utilizzano di più in estate, tutti fattori che aumentano evidentemente il rischio di queste infezioni che possono essere veramente fastidiose, soprattutto nel genere femminile". I sintomi? Campanelli d'allarme sono il classico bruciore, o dolore, quando si fa la pipì; difficoltà a urinare e bisogno frequente e urgente; ma anche una sensazione di peso sulla vescica, al basso ventre, e di non completo svuotamento e visivamente si osservano anche urine torbide. Il fastidio può essere significativo, osserva l'infettivologo, sottolineando l'importanza di non trascurare questa problematica, perché spesso questi episodi di cistite "portano a un utilizzo spropositato di antibiotici, anche in autoprescrizione - avverte lo specialista - Purtroppo oggi le infezioni urinarie sono uno dei settori nel quale abbiamo più facilmente batteri resistenti agli antibiotici, necessità di ricovero in ospedale e quant'altro. Quindi bisogna fare grande attenzione", ammonisce. L'esperto affronta il tema anche in un post su Facebook dedicato alle cistiti estive, nel quale dispensa qualche consiglio "per provare a prevenirle: bevi almeno 2 litri di acqua al giorno - suggerisce - segui una dieta ricca di vitamine e antiossidanti come frutta e verdura; evita cibi zuccherati e bevande gassate; svolgi attività fisica regolarmente; bevi molta acqua; limita il consumo di caffè, alcolici, dolci o cibi troppo conditi; non trattenere la pipì; non indossare vestiti troppo attillati di materiale sintetico o passare la giornata con il costume bagnato". E infine: "In caso di episodio di cistite, è molto importante fare un'urinocoltura prima di iniziare l'antibiotico (meglio evitare il fai da te)".
