Belgio-Israele, "troppi rischi": clamoroso, Bruxelles cancella la partita

La grande paura spinge il Belgio a tirarsi indietro. Il governo municipale di Bruxelles ha infatti annunciato che "per motivi di sicurezza" non intende più ospitare la partita di Uefa Nation League tra Belgio e Israele, in programma il 6 settembre allo stadio re Baldovino. La comunicazione è arrivata dopo che le autorità belghe avevano già sospeso la vendita dei biglietti per una partita considerata ad alto rischio per la forte presenza di immigrati musulmani nella capitale belga e alla luce dell'offensiva israeliana su Gaza. Il Belgio è inserito nello stesso girone della Francia (che ospiterà il 14 ottobre) e dell'Italia (attesa il 14 novembre a Bruxelles). "La città di Bruxelles considera impossibile organizzare Belgio-Israele allo stadio Re Balduino", recita il comunicato diffuso dalle autorità, "dopo un'attenta e approfondita analisi abbiamo concluso che giocare una simile partita nella nostra capitale porterebbe a grandi manifestazioni e contromanifestazioni mettendo a rischio l'incolumità degli spettatori, dei giocatori, degli abitanti e delle nostre forze di polizia", concludono.
