Buchmesse, Borgonovo: il capitalismo non cambia, ma gli uomini sì

Francoforte, 17 ott. (askanews) - "Qui si è parlato di una vocazione suicida del capitalismo. Io penso che il capitalismo sia sfuggente nel senso che continua a cambiare natura, ma il capitalismo alla fine è sempre lo sfruttamento delle risorse del mondo e degli uomini, quindi non è possibile un capitalismo diverso, il capitalismo fa sempre quello, fa il capitalismo. Però sono possibili degli uomini diversi, sono possibili gli uomini diversi che si oppongano alle inevitabili derive del sistema economico". Lo ha detto, al termine di uno degli incontri previsti dal programma della partecipazione dell'Italia come Paese Ospite d'onore alla Buchmesse di Francoforte, il giornalista e scrittore Francesco Borgonovo, che ha partecipato a un dibattito con Giacomo Marramao e Marco Tarchi. "Diceva un grande poeta, T. S. Eliot, in un libro meraviglioso che dice tutto dell'Occidente che è La terra desolata o La terra devastata, con lo ha tradotto qualcuno di recente - ha aggiunto Borgonovo - che il marinaio Fenicio Phlebas annega nel mare perché si attiene a un'unica legge, quella della perdita del guadagno, la legge dell'economia. E allora, l'unica cosa da fare per aere un mondo migliore è superare la legge dell'economia e ritornare alla legge del dono, che è quella che distrugge questo sistema. Ma per fare dei doni, per regalare, per donarsi, ci vuole un bel po' di coraggio, ci vuole un bel po' di disponibilità all'apertura. Credo che la strada sia quella".
