Cannes, Rasoulof: spero di dar voce ai registi che lavorano in Iran

Roma, 26 mag. (askanews) - "Spero che grazie alla mia presenza a Cannes, le voci dei registi che lavorano in Iran nonostante la repressione e gli strettissimi controlli vengano ascoltate in tutto il mondo", ha dichiarato il regista iraniano Mohammad Rasoulof fuggito dal suo Paese, dopo aver ricevuto un premio speciale dalla giuria per il suo film "Il seme del fico sacro" al 77esimo Festival di Cannes. Alcuni degli attori del film non hanno potuto lasciare il Paese e il regista ha sfilato sul red carpet con le loro foto. "Ho sentimenti ambivalenti - ha detto il regista dopo il premio - ovviamente sono molto felice che questo film sia stato riconosciuto e che possa dare maggiore visibilità, che il film sia visto di più e che possiamo attirare l'attenzione, ma il mio cuore è rimasto con i membri del mio team e del cast che hanno lottato per ottenere questo film e che oggi non sono potuti essere qui per condividerlo". La presenza del dissidente Rasoulof al Festival è stata vista come un forte messaggio alla libertà d'espressione.
