Donald Trump accusa: "Geni cattivi dai migranti"

In un'intervista al programma "The Hugh Hewitt Show" andata in onda ieri mattina, Trump ha criticato Kamala Harris per le sue politiche sull'immigrazione, interpretando i numeri del Dipartimento della sicurezza nazionale. «Quando guardi le cose che propone, sono così lontane che non ne ha idea. Che ne dici di consentire alle persone di arrivare a un confine aperto, 13.000 delle quali erano assassini?», ha detto Trump, riferendosi ai numeri forniti dal Dipartimento che ha spiegato che i migranti a cui fa riferimento sono entrati nel Paese anche sotto l'amministrazione Trump e non sono sotto la custodia dei centri di detenzione per immigrati, ma in prigioni regolari. «Ora sai che sono omicidi. Ci credo. È nei loro geni. E abbiamo un sacco di cattivi geni nel nostro Paese». «Parecchi fra di loro hanno assassinato ben più di una persona e oggi vivono tranquillamente negli Stati Uniti», ha dichiarato Donald Trump, prima di aggiungere che «abbiamo avuto 425.000 persone che sono arrivate nel nostro Paese e che non dovrebbero essere qui, che sono criminali». Da Washington reagiscono, definiscono le parole del candidato repubblicano «odiose, disgustose e inappropriate» senza posto «nel nostro Paese». Lo ha detto la portavoce della Casa Bianca, Karine Jean-Pierre, rispondendo alla domanda di una giornalista durante un briefing con la stampa.
