Dopo Tokyo, la Nave Amerigo Vespucci si trova nelle Filippine

Roma, 14 set. (askanews) - La Nave Amerigo Vespucci, storico veliero e Nave Scuola della Marina Militare, è arrivata nell'arcipelago delle Filippine a Manila, 23esima tappa del tour mondiale, dopo la sosta a Tokyo, percorrendo quasi 2.000 miglia in 15 giorni di navigazione. Si tratta della prima visita della nave nella capitale delle Filippine. Ad accogliere Nave Amerigo Vespucci in porto a Manila, l'Ambasciatore d'Italia a Manila S.E. Davide Giglio e autorità rappresentanti della Marina Militare delle Filippine. Anche a Manila migliaia visitatori iscritti per salire a bordo del Vespucci. L'Amerigo Vespucci, custode delle più antiche tradizioni navali e marinare da oltre novant'anni - è uno dei simboli più conosciuti dell'Italia nel mondo. L'iniziativa del "Tour Mondiale" Vespucci, fortemente voluta dal ministro della Difesa Guido Crosetto, coniuga la tradizionale attività formativa degli allievi Ufficiali e la promozione delle eccellenze del Made in Italy. Il Vespucci è l'emblema della Marina Militare e dell'Italia stessa: nel solco delle tradizioni marinare, negli anni ha contribuito alla crescita del prestigio del Paese. La nave è partita il primo luglio 2023 dal Porto di Genova per compiere il giro del mondo della durata di circa 2 anni.
