Roma, 21 giu. (askanews) - Il 21 giugno, solstizio d'estate è anche l'International Yoga Day che si festeggia in tutto il mondo. Nelle immagini, il primo ministro indiano Narendra Modi partecipa a una sessione di yoga in occasione della decima Giornata internazionale dello yoga a Srinagar, nel Kashmir amministrato dall'India, una regione tormentata dai crescenti attacchi dei ribelli. Centinana di persone hanno srotolato il loro tappetino l'una accanta all'altra per iniziare la giornata celebrando il sole con una asana dopo l'altra, terminando con una meditazione. Lo Yoga Day si festeggia il 21 giugno dal 2014, quando venne riconosciuto dalle Nazioni Unite. Poiché gli esercizi di yoga hanno mostrato benefici significativi per il benessere fisico e mentale, è stato considerato importante promuovere a livello globale questa pratica di benessere, che ha avuto origine proprio in India. Raduni e pratiche collettive di Yoga in questo giorno speciale si celebrano in tutto il mondo.
