Farnesina: Tajani, 'diplomazia dello sport per inviare messaggi di pace'

Roma, 8 mag. (Adnkronos) - "Abbiamo deciso di puntare molto sullo sport e sulla diplomazia dello sport: di fronte a due guerre, dobbiamo inviare messaggi di pace. Chi meglio di un atleta lo può fare? Lo sport dev'essere messaggero di pace e di rapporti fra i popoli. Lo sport insegna anche a difendere alcuni valori, come la lealtà, il coraggio e la capacità di accettare le sconfitte e gestire le vittorie". Lo ha detto il vice presidente del Consiglio e ministro degli Esteri Antonio Tajani, intervenendo alla Farnesina alla presentazione del progetto di promozione e comunicazione 'Sport e Innovazione Made in Italy'. "Il campione che si comporta bene e dà un buon esempio influenza i giovani - ha sottolineato Tajani - I campioni sono ambasciatori dell'Italia nel mondo, sono in grado di presentare anche al di là dei nostri confini l'immagine dell'Italia, promuovendo, grazie alla loro notorietà, turismo ed esportazioni, e a presentare le bellezze del nostro Paese, del nostro mare e delle nostre coste. Abbiamo promosso centinaia di eventi assieme alle nostre ambasciate. Per gli Europei di calcio la nostra ambasciata organizzerà eventi per promuovere la nostra nazione. C'è bisogno di esempi positivi e il made in Italy è anche questo. Lo sport - ha concluso il ministro - serve anche per promuovere la dieta mediterranea".
