Fontana: libertà di stampa non è libertà di infangare

Roma, 2 ago. (askanews) - "La libertà di espressione è un caposaldo della democrazia, dà la cifra della democrazia che siamo, quindi dobbiamo difenderla a tutti i costi; c'è la libertà di espressione e di informazione ma ogni tanto penso ci sia anche troppa libertà di infangare qualcuno o di prendeersela con qualcuno. Secondo me da questo punto di vista non servono norme ma serve essere talvolta prudenti: perché i media hanno un potere importante che va usato bene. Il giornalismo d'inchiesta è per me fondamentale, è chiaro che se ci sono situazioni di aggressione mediatica nei confronti di qualcuno che poi si rivela innocente, ad esempio, recuperare un po' di prudenza ed etica, potrebbe essere più che sufficiente. Anche perché c'è il rischio che con le leggi qualcuno se ne approfitti per far tacere la stampa e la libera informazione che, come ho detto, è la cifra democratica del Paese". Lo ha detto il presidente della Camera, Lorenzo Fontana, parlando alla cerimonia di consegna del Ventaglio da parte dell'Associazione stampa parlamentare.
