"Forza e determinazione", l'Estonia vuole mandare truppe a combattere contro i russi

«Se i Paesi occidentali vogliono risolvere la crisi ucraina sul campo di battaglia, Mosca è pronta». Il ministro degli Esteri russo, Sergei Lavrov, ha sfidato l'Occidente. E a raccogliere la sfida comincia la piccola Estonia. Il consigliere per la Sicurezza nazionale del presidente Madis Roll afferma che il governo sta discutendo «seriamente» la possibilità di inviare truppe in Ucraina occidentale. Secondo il consigliere del presidente estone, Tallin sta analizzando il potenziale dispiegamento e preferirebbe farlo come parte di una missione Nato «per dimostrare forza e determinazione». Sul campo continua l'offensiva di Mosca con danni ingenti per le forze di difesa ucraine. «La situazione è difficile», ha affermato il governatore di Kharkiv, Oleh Syniehubov, riconoscendo i «successi tattici» dell'esercito di Putin. «I russi stanno cercando di allargare la linea del fronte», ha aggiunto Syniehubov, parlando di un «massiccio bombardamento» della città di Vovchansk, con attacchi anche ad altri insediamenti come Lukyantsi e Bugruvatkata. A confermare le difficoltà sul campo è stato anche il capo della polizia di Kharkiv, Volodymyr Tymoshko. Citato da Rbc-Ucraina, quest'ultimo ha affermato che Vovchansk si sta «trasformando» in Bakhmut o Maryinka a causa dei ripetuti attacchi aerei russi. Il Wall Street Journal ha evidenziato in un articolo che la percentuale di missili russi abbattuti dall'Ucraina è molto più bassa che all'inizio del conflitto. Tra le ragioni del deterioramento della difesa aerea ucraina, c'è anche l'esaurimento dei «sistemi di difesa Patriot forniti dall'Occidente». «Negli ultimi sei mesi, l'Ucraina ha intercettato circa il 46% dei missili russi, rispetto al 73% dei sei mesi precedenti», ha precisato il quotidiano. «Il Patriot è l'unico mezzo affidabile ma Kiev ha pochi sistemi del genere». Kiev ha anche deciso di sostituire il comandante delle forze a Kharkiv, il generale Yuriy Galushkin, con il generale Mykhailo Drapatyi, uno dei comandanti che ha guidato la liberazione della regione di Kherson nel 2022.
