G7: Schillaci, 'nel 2041 sei milioni di over80, corretti stili vita riducono malattie'

Siracusa, 22 set. (Adnkronos) - "Secondo le più recenti stime nel 2041 la popolazione ultraottantenne italiana aumenterà del 35,2% rispetto al 2021, superando i 6 milioni. La sfida è quella di fare in modo che gli anni che viviamo in più siano anni vissuti in buona salute. L'invecchiamento porta con sé un aumento dell'incidenza delle patologie croniche che però possono essere prevenute o ritardate se nel corso della vita adottiamo corretti e sani stili di vita". Lo ha detto il ministro della Salute, Orazio Schillaci, intervenendo 'DiviNazione Expo 24' a Siracusa, nell'ambito del G7 Agricoltura. "Diversi studi indicano che l'attività fisica ed una corretta alimentazione possono ridurre i rischi di malattie come il diabete, le malattie cardiovascolari e possono anche abbassare il rischio di neoplasie. Al contrario, stili di vita scorretti rappresentano fattori di rischio dell'insorgenza di queste malattie che causano il 63% dei decessi e spesso determinano le più frequenti disabilità", ha aggiunto il ministro. "L'Italia ha un brand riconosciuto a livello mondiale, quello della Dieta mediterranea che contribuisce a ridurre la mortalità totale, previene lo sviluppo di malattie cardio-vascolari, del diabete, dell'obesità, di tante patologie tumorali e riduce i rischi di demenza senile", aggiunge il ministro Schillaci.
