Gaza, la città di Kahn Younis è irriconoscibile: la distruzione dopo un anno di guerra

Quando i palestinesi sono tornati nelle loro case a Khan Younis, nella Striscia di Gaza, dopo il ritiro dell'esercito israeliano ad aprile, hanno trovato una città irriconoscibile dopo un anno di bombardamenti. Il suo paesaggio, un tempo fatto di appartamenti e attività commerciali, si è trasformato in macerie e detriti. Molte persone si sono rifugiate all'interno o vicino alle loro case distrutte, mentre altri si sono diretti verso ovest e hanno montato tende in quella che è diventata nota come l'area di Muwasi. Secondo il ministero della Salute di Gaza, circa 42.000 palestinesi sono morti nella guerra. Il ministero non distingue tra combattenti e civili nel suo conteggio, ma afferma che circa la metà dei morti sono donne e bambini. Israele afferma che almeno 17.000 militanti sono tra i morti.
