Gb, migliaia di manifestanti contro le proteste e violenze razziste

Londra, 8 ago. (askanews) - Migliaia di manifestanti antirazzisti si sono radunati in tutta l'Inghilterra e hanno formato scudi umani per proteggere i centri di asilo dopo che la polizia ha lanciato l'allarme per i disordini legati a oltre 100 raduni guidati dall'estrema destra. Manifestazioni che sono avvenute nove giorni dopo che il paese è stato scosso dall'accoltellamento mortale di tre ragazzine e dalle rivolte che ne sono seguite. La polizia britannica ha organizzato un'ingente mobilitazione per contrastare i disordini. Circa 6.000 ufficiali antisommossa sono stati arruolati per affrontare le manifestazioni previste contro centri per rifugiati e studi legali che si occupano di immigrazione, elencati come potenziali obiettivi in un gruppo di chat di estrema destra sull'app Telegram. Migliaia di contro-manifestanti sono scesi in piazza a Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Brighton e Londra per proteggere le loro comunità. Nonostante i timori di violenze e disordini che hanno segnato la Gran Bretagna su una scala mai vista dalle rivolte del 2011, alla fine i contro-manifestanti hanno superato in numero quelli che sostenevano le proteste guidate dall'estrema destra. La polizia prevede che i prossimi due giorni saranno relativamente tranquilli e sono previste altre proteste questo fine settimana.
