Governo: Meloni, 'Occidente si disprezza e autocrazie guadagnano terreno'

New York, 24 set. (Adnkronos) - "Come Occidente penso che abbiamo due rischi da contrastare. Il primo è quello che uno dei più grandi filosofi europei contemporanei, Roger Scruton, chiamava oikofobia, dal greco oikos, casa, e fobia, paura" ovvero "avversione per la propria casa. Un disprezzo crescente, che ci porta a voler cancellare con la violenza i simboli della nostra civiltà, negli Stati Uniti come in Europa. Il secondo rischio è il paradosso che, mentre da un lato l'Occidente disprezza se stesso, dall'altro pretende spesso di essere superiore agli altri. Il risultato? L'Occidente rischia di diventare un interlocutore meno credibile. Il cosiddetto Sud del mondo chiede maggiore influenza. Le nazioni in via di sviluppo ormai ampiamente consolidate collaborano autonomamente tra loro. Le autocrazie stanno guadagnando terreno sulle democrazie e rischiamo di assomigliare sempre più a una fortezza chiusa e autoreferenziale". Lo ha detto la presidente del Consiglio Giorgia Meloni, ritirando il 'Global Citizen Award 2024' dell'Atlantic Council consegnatole da Elon Musk.
