Guterres persona non grata in Israele. Il segretario Onu risponde

Milano, 2 ott. (askanews) - Guterres persona non grata in Israele. La mancata condanna esplicita dell'attacco iraniano contro Tel Aviv è costata al segretario generale dell'Onu la messa al bando da parte del ministro degli Esteri israeliano Katz. Guterres aveva condannato "l'allargamento del conflitto in Medio Oriente" deplorando "un'escalation dopo l'altra" senza tuttavia esplicitare, secondo Katz, una posizione netta contro l'azione di Teheran. Dopo la dichiarazione del ministro degli esteri israeliano, il segretario generale dell'Onu è tornato sull'argomento sottolineando: "Come avrebbe dovuto essere ovvio ieri nel contesto della condanna che ho espresso, condanno ancora una volta fermamente i massicci attacchi missilistici di ieri dell'Iran contro Israele. E questi attacchi, paradossalmente, non fanno nulla per sostenere la causa del popolo palestinese o ridurre le sue sofferenze". Una dichiarazione per calmare gli animi, almeno a livello diplomatico. Da mesi è infatti alta la tensione tra Israele e il numero uno delle Nazioni Unite, il quale è sempre stato molto critico con il governo di Netanyahu per gli attacchi a Gaza e in Libano che hanno causato migliaia di vittime nella popolazione civile.
