La polizia ha utilizzato spray al peperoncino sulla folla che sta protestando contro la guerra di Israele a Gaza marciando verso il Campidoglio, dove il premier israeliano Benjamin Netanyahu sta parlando al Congresso. Migliaia di manifestanti cantano “Free, free Palestine”, mentre alcuni hanno cercato di bloccare le strade prima del discorso di Netanyahu. La polizia, che indossa maschere antigas, ha bloccato la folla per impedirle di avvicinarsi a Capitol Hill. "Una parte della folla ha iniziato a diventare violenta tra la First Street e Constitution Avenue. La folla non ha obbedito al nostro ordine di allontanarsi", afferma la Capitol Police in un post su X. I manifestanti che portavano cartelli con messaggi come “arrestare Netanyahu” e “porre fine a tutti gli aiuti degli Stati Uniti a Israele” si sono radunati vicino al Campidoglio prima di marciare verso l'edificio. Gli organizzatori hanno detto che avrebbero cercato di bloccare il percorso di Netanyahu verso l'edificio.
