Il fisioterapista Naldi e il preparatore fisico Ferrara fuori dallo staff di Sinner, la decisione dopo il caso doping

Il fisioterapista Giacomo Naldi e il preparatore atletico Umberto Ferrara non fanno più parte dell'entourage di Jannik Sinner. Quest'ultimo, infatti, sarà allo US Open solo con gli allenatori Simone Vagnozzi e Darren Cahill. Proprio il coach Cahill lo ha annunciato nelle scorse ore. Il motivo dell'allontanamento, come riporta Repubblica, sembra piuttosto chiaro: sarebbero stati loro i responsabili, seppur involontariamente, della positività dell'altoatesino al test dell'antidoping a Indian Wells a marzo. Ferrara, infatti, secondo quanto emerso dalle carte del processo della Itia, in cui il tennista è stato assolto, avrebbe acquistato il Trofodermin - un farmaco da banco in Italia - per il collega Naldi, che l'avrebbe usato per una ferita alla mano e poi avrebbe massaggiato i muscoli di Sinner. Così quest'ultimo sarebbe entrato in contatto con un farmaco vietato dal circuito Atp. Pare comunque che Naldi e Ferrara già da un po' non seguissero più Jannik nei tornei: il primo non si sarebbe più visto a partire da Halle, Ferrara da Wimbledon. "Abbiamo preso ieri questa decisione, abbiamo discusso, e allo US Open ci saremo solo io e Simone (Vagnozzi) a supportare Jannik - ha detto Cahill a ESPN -. La situazione è molto difficile, chiunque attraversi momenti del genere soffre. Non è stato facile vedere Jannik soffrire, sia mentalmente che fisicamente, nell'ultimo periodo".
