Kaspersky vietato dagli Usa: dietro all'antivirus l'ombra di Putin

Gli Stati Uniti hanno annunciato l'intenzione di vietare la vendita del software antivirus prodotto dalla famosa azienda russa Kaspersky, a causa dei suoi presunti legami con il Cremlino e di un rischio conseguentemente significativo per le infrastrutture e i servizi statunitensi, ha spiegato ieri la segretaria al Commercio Usa, Gina Raimondo. Gli Stati Uniti, ha sottolineato, sono stati costretti ad agire a causa della «capacità e dell'intenzione della Russia di raccogliere e utilizzare come arma le informazioni personali degli americani». Il Dipartimento del Commercio ha indicato dodici persone con ruoli esecutivi e di leadership senior presso Kaspersky Lab, azienda russa che produce sistemi antivirus, come meritevoli di sanzioni economiche. L'embargo contro Kaspersky riguarda sia il software che i suoi aggiornamenti, le rivendite e la concessione di licenze del prodotto a partire dal 29 settembre e le nuove attività saranno limitate entro 30 giorni dall'annuncio. Venditori e rivenditori che violano le restrizioni saranno passibili di sanzioni. L'azienda russa promette una battaglia legale per contrastare il divieto e nega di essere coinvolta in minacce alla sicurezza degli Stati Uniti. Il Cremlino è intervenuto sul caso, definendo la mossa di Washington come «concorrenza sleale».
