Roma, 21 giu. (askanews) - Lo spettacolo dell'alba a Stonehenge per celebrare il solstizio d'estate. Ogni anno una folla si riunisce nel sito patrimonio mondiale dell'Unesco nel Sud della Gran Bretagna per ammirare il sorgere del sole che in questo giorno regala immagini uniche quando i raggi iniziano a filtrare tra i monoliti. Una scena che si ripete annualmente e viene vissuta qui come una festa tra riti pagani e rievocazioni storiche, in un'atmosfera particolarissima e irripetibile. Infatti, una delle tante teorie sull'origine del monumento megalitico lo collega proprio a queste celebrazioni del 21 giugno, quando il sole sorge a sinistra della Heel Stone e passa proprio attraverso l'asse centrale del complesso roccioso.
