"Mai lavare i denti sotto la doccia": l'avvertimento dell'esperta

Sbagliato lavarsi i denti sotto la doccia: l'abitudine, apparentemente innocua, viene praticata soprattutto da chi cerca di fare più cose contemporaneamente per fretta. Chi lo fa, però, dovrebbe smettere. Si tratterebbe, infatti, di qualcosa di deleterio per la salute. A confermarlo è la dottoressa Payal Bhalla, direttrice della clinica del Quest Dental di Ipswich, secondo cui questo comportamento non solo riduce la durata dello spazzolino da denti, ma soprattutto aumenta il rischio di contrarre qualche malattia. Intervistata da Metro, l'esperta ha spiegato che l'esposizione frequente all'acqua bollente finisce col rovinare pesantemente lo spazzolino. La conseguenza più grave per chi si lava i denti nella doccia, però, non è questa. "Nel soffione della doccia - ha spiegato la dottoressa - possono esserci dei batteri e quando ti lavi i denti in doccia potresti esporre lo spazzolino ai germi. I batteri possono accumularsi sullo spazzolino e causare potenziali problemi di salute orale". Per questo il consiglio è quello di tenere lo spazzolino in un luogo asciutto e pulito. Lavarsi i denti sotto la doccia, quindi, non è una pratica favorevole né dal punto di vista economico, visto i danni che l'acqua bollente provoca allo spazzolino, né dal punto di vista della salute dal momento che ci si espone fortemente ai batteri.
