Mar Rosso, attacco Houthi a una nave greca

Il Cairo, 29 mag. (Adnkronos) - I ribelli Houthi dello Yemen, che l'Iran è accusato di sostenere, hanno attaccato una portarinfuse greca nel Mar Rosso. Gli Houthi hanno lanciato nelle scorse ore cinque missili balistici antinave da aree dello Yemen sotto il loro controllo verso il Mar Rosso e la portarinfuse M/V Laax, di proprietà greca, battente bandiera delle Isole Marshall, ha riferito di essere stata colpita da tre missili, ha reso noto il Centcom precisando che l'imbarcazione è stata comunque in grado di proseguire. Non vengono segnalati feriti. Il Centcom precisa che sono stati inoltre distrutti cinque sistemi Uas (uncrewed aerial systems) sul Mar Rosso, lanciati da zone dello Yemen sotto il controllo degli Houthi. "E' stato stabilito che i sistemi rappresentavano una minaccia imminente per i mercantili nella regione - si legge in un aggiornamento condiviso su X - Queste azioni vengono intraprese per proteggere la libertà di navigazione e rendere più sicure le acque internazionali per le imbarcazioni Usa, della coalizione e per i mercantili".
