Mattarella al museo Mocca a San Paolo: siamo tutti un po' migranti

San Paolo, 17 lug. (askanews) - Il presidente della Repubblica, Sergio Mattarella, accompagnato dalla figlia Laura, ha visitato il Museo dell'immigrazione nel quartiere Mocca di San Paolo. L'edificio che ospita il museo è l'albergo - attivo fino al 1978 - dove gli immigrati trascorrevano un periodo massimo di otto giorni prima di dirigersi alla loro destinazione finale in Brasile, una sorta di Ellis Island brasiliana. La maggior parte dei migranti, che giungevano qui in treno dal porto più vicino, era italiana: sulle mura del corridoio di ingresso del museo infatti sono ancora ben visibili le istruzioni per quanti arrivavano. "Siamo tutti un po migranti", ha commentato Mattarella di fronte alla teca che conserva i passaporti di migranti di sedici diverse nazionalità.
