Microsoft: Meloni riceve Smith, 'investimento consolida ruolo Italia hub digitale'

Roma, 2 ott. (Adnkronos) - La presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, ha ricevuto oggi a Palazzo Chigi il presidente di Microsoft, Brad Smith. Nel corso del colloquio Meloni ha espresso soddisfazione per l'importante investimento che Microsoft ha annunciato di realizzare in Italia", 4,3 miliardi di euro nei prossimi due anni, "per incrementare i data center necessari per sostenere la crescente richiesta di servizi di intelligenza artificiale". Ne dà notizia Palazzo Chigi. "Il rafforzamento delle capacità computazionali - si legge nella nota diramata dopo l'incontro -, facendo leva sulle eccellenze italiane dell'alta formazione e della ricerca, contribuirà a consolidare il ruolo dell'Italia come hub digitale nel Mediterraneo, anche in linea con le priorità del Piano Mattei per l'Africa e la Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (Pgii), iniziativa strategica lanciata in ambito G7". L'incontro, "che rientra in una serie di contatti della premier con esponenti del settore dell'innovazione, ha inoltre consentito uno scambio di vedute sulle prospettive dello sviluppo tecnologico e informatico globale, con particolare riferimento allo sviluppo dell'intelligenza artificiale, alle opportunità da cogliere e ai rischi da prevenire".
