Mo: amb. israeliano a Roma, 'abbiamo cercato fino all'ultimo di evitare vittime civili'

Roma, 15 apr. (Adnkronos) - "Abbiamo cercato di fare il possibile per ridurre al minimo il numero delle vittime civili, ogni vittima innocente, soprattuto bambini, è una tragedia. Sapevamo che Hamas stesse preparando questo attacco e aver voluto evitare fino all'ultimo una guerra è stato proprio per evitare vittime civili, cosa che è stata impossibile dopo il 7 ottobre. Detto questo, non penso che i numeri che sta pubblicando Hamas sulle persone uccise siano accurati. Per Hamas sono tutti bambini, anche i 16enni coinvolti in azioni terroristiche contro Israele. Abbiamo cercato di allontanare fin dal primo giorno la popolazione civile dalle zone d'attacco, invece Hamas ha deciso di utilizzare queste persone come scudi civili. E potrebbe finire domani se Hamas concordasse un cessate il fuoco, che è stato sempre rifiutato". Lo ha detto a Start Sky Tg24 l'ambasciatore israeliano in Italia Alon Bar. "Non ho informazioni privilegiate sulle tattiche operative di Israele a su un attacco a Rafah - prosegue Bar - ma finché Hamas manterrà le sue capacità militari e un'influenza politica, potrebbe avvenire, altrimenti ci sarà un altro 7 ottobre con vittime civili sia israeliane che palestinesi. Come gestire questo? Speriamo in uno sforzo diplomatico, ma deve dare risposte alla nostra sicurezza". Quanto alla sicurezza in Italia, per gli italiani e per la comunità ebraiche, l'ambasciatore conclude che "ci sono minacce e abbiamo indizi sul coinvolgimento dell'Iran. Altre ambasciate sono state attaccate, siamo preoccupati, ma siamo grati a polizia e politici italiani che fanno il possibile per la sicurezza".
