Washington, 9 apr. (Adnkronos) - Il ministro degli Esteri britannico ha affermato che è necessario un piano B", se i colloqui per il cessate il fuoco a Gaza dovessero fallire. Durante una conferenza stampa congiunta con il segretario di Stato americano Antony Blinken, David Cameron ha dichiarato che il Regno Unito sta considerando le opzioni umanitarie in caso di "conflitto" a Rafah. "Dobbiamo pensare a quale possa essere un piano B. Se non fosse possibile raggiungere un cessate il fuoco - ha detto Cameron - Cosa possono fare le organizzazioni umanitarie e di altro tipo per garantire che, in caso di conflitto a Rafah, le persone ottengano sicurezza, cibo, acqua e medicine?". Cameron ha elencato le priorità del Regno Unito riguardo la guerra di Israele a Gaza: "Noi sosteniamo gli ostaggi e le loro famiglie. Ci impegniamo a fondo per portare gli aiuti a Gaza, è la cosa giusta da fare. E sosteniamo Israele nel suo legittimo diritto di autodifesa per affrontare la minaccia di Hamas".
