Mo: Meloni sente Re Giordania, evitare regionalizzazione conflitto, stop iniziative che allontanano dialogo

Roma, 6 ago. (Adnkronos) - La presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, ha avuto oggi un colloquio telefonico con il Re di Giordania Abdallah II. Nell'esprimere "profonda preoccupazione per le crescenti tensioni in Medio Oriente", Meloni ha ringraziato Re Abdallah per la sua leadership "nell'instancabile ricerca di una pace sostenibile condividendo con l'interlocutore l'assoluta necessità di evitare una regionalizzazione del conflitto". Sottolineando "l'importanza di veicolare a tutte le parti inviti alla moderazione e all'astenersi da iniziative che possano allontanare prospettive di dialogo". Ne dà notizia Palazzo Chigi. I due leader hanno anche concordato come "il concreto rischio di escalation renda ancor più necessaria la conclusione dei negoziati sul cessate il fuoco a Gaza e sulla liberazione degli ostaggi. Reiterato anche il comune impegno a rafforzare l'assistenza umanitaria alla popolazione della striscia, anche nell'ambito dell'iniziativa Food for Gaza, e a continuare a lavorare per una soluzione politica sostenibile e duratura". Meloni e Re Abdallah hanno condiviso "l'opportunità di mantenere uno stretto coordinamento già a partire dai prossimi giorni".
