Mo: Starmer, 'cessate il fuoco nell'anniversario del 7 ottobre'

Londra, 7 ott. (Adnkronos/Dpa/Europa Press) - Il primo ministro del Regno Unito, Keir Starmer, ha chiesto un cessate il fuoco in Medio Oriente in occasione del primo anniversario del 7 ottobre e invoca "un sostegno inequivocabile alla comunità ebraica" in quello che è stato "il giorno più buio" della sua storia "dall'Olocausto". "Un anno dopo questi orribili attacchi, dobbiamo sostenere inequivocabilmente la comunità ebraica e unirci come Paese. Non dobbiamo mai voltarci dall'altra parte di fronte all'odio. Né mentre i civili soffrono le terribili conseguenze di questo conflitto. Ribadisco il mio appello a la fine immediata degli scontri a Gaza e in Libano e l'eliminazione di tutte le restrizioni sugli aiuti umanitari", ha affermato. Starmer ha sostenuto che il suo governo non “vacillerà” nella “ricerca della pace”. "In questo giorno di dolore e tristezza, onoriamo coloro che abbiamo perso e continuiamo la nostra determinazione nel far tornare coloro che sono ancora tenuti in ostaggio, aiutare coloro che soffrono e garantire un futuro migliore al Medio Oriente", ha affermato.
