Mo: Tajani, 'possiamo essere critici, ma Israele resta una democrazia'

Roma, 18 giu. (Adnkronos) - "Israele, con tutti i difetti che può avere, è una democrazia. Ci sono manifestazioni contro il governo e a favore, ma non è l'Italia che può dire a un governo straniero 'dimettiti', dobbiamo rispettarlo, non è una dittatura". Lo ha detto il vice premier e ministro degli Esteri Antonio Tajani, in un'audizione davanti alle commissioni congiunte al Senato. "Si può essere in disaccordo con il capo del governo - ha spiegato Tajani - ma è un governo eletto dal popolo di Israele. E questo è il tema, cioè è una democrazia, l'unica in quell'area e dobbiamo rispettarla. Poi, uno può condannare, non essere d'accordo. Abbiamo detto che la nostra posizione non è stata affatto tiepida, è stata ferma per quanto riguarda l'attacco a Rafah. Abbiamo detto, ribadito, in ogni occasione, in tutti i vertici, compreso quello del G7 esteri che ho presieduto, qual è la nostra posizione".
