Tutti vogliono che si riprenda, ma nessuno sa veramente come stia né lo sapremo mai per una questione di privacy": a parlare in questi termini di Kate Middleton è il biografo reale Robert Hardman nel libro in uscita oggi "Carlo III il nuovo re. Storia confidenziale della nuova corte d'Inghilterra". "I social - ha spiegato l'esperto - continueranno a produrre la loro narrazione folle dei fatti con teorie cospirative fuori controllo ma, al momento, le uniche cose certe che sappiamo della principessa del Galles sono quelle che ha dichiarato lei stessa nel suo ultimo videomessaggio di marzo, rilasciato proprio per annunciare il prolungamento della sua assenza dalla scena reale". Lo scorso marzo la principessa ha fatto sapere di essere malata di cancro e ha spiegato di doversi dedicare esclusivamente alle cure del caso. "Sappiamo che sta facendo le cure e si dice che stia migliorando - ha detto ancora il biografo -. Catherine chiaramente sperava di tornare alla sua vita normale e ai suoi doveri pubblici, ma così non è stato. Potrebbe apparire sul balcone di Buckingham Palace come in un negozio qualsiasi del Regno Unito. Noi comunque non lo sapremo mai in anticipo e dobbiamo accettarlo".
