Nobel per la Fisiologia e la Medicina a Viktor Ambros e Gary Ruvkun

Stoccolma, 7 ott. (askanews) - Assegnato il Nobel 2024 per la Fisiologia e la Medicina a due statunitensi. "L'Assemblea per il Nobel presso l'Istituto Karolinska ha oggi deciso di premiare congiuntamente Viktor Ambrose e Gary Ruvkun per la scoperta del microRNA e il suo ruolo nella regolazione post-trascrizionale", ha detto Thomas Perlmann, segretario generale dell'Assemblea per il Nobel a Stoccolma. "Viktor Ambrose è nato ad Hanover, New Hampshire, nel 1953 e il lavoro che ha portato al premio di oggi è stato realizzato presso l'Università di Harvard, mentre attualmente è un professore di Scienza naturale presso la Scuola medica dell'Università del Massachusetts", ha detto Perlmann. "Gary Ruvkun - ha proseguito il segretario generale - è nato a Berkeley, California negli Usa, nel 1952. Il lavoro che ha portato al suo premio Nobel è stato condotto presso l'Ospedale generale del Massachusetts e presso la Scuola medica di Harvard".
