La senatrice australiana indigena Lidia Thorpe è stata allontanata dalla sala dove si teneva, in parlamento, il ricevimento per Re Carlo III: dopo che il sovrano britannico ha stretto la mano al Primo Ministro australiano Anthony Albanese, la senatrice ha iniziato a urlare "non sei il mio re", "ridateci ciò che ci avete rubato", "questa non è la vostra terra, tu non sei il mio re, non sei il nostro re". Thorpe è stata allontanata dalla sicurezza e scortata fuori dall'aula, mentre ancora gridava in segno di protesta.
