Oro nel judo, i tifosi francesi esplodono: Teddy Riner mito dei Giochi

La fan zone a La Villette di Parigi è esplosa in un tripudio di applausi quando Teddy Riner e la squadra francese di judo hanno vinto la medaglia d'oro nell'evento a squadre miste, sconfiggendo il Giappone in finale per la seconda volta consecutiva ai Giochi e difendendo di fatto con successo il titolo olimpico. Decisivo l'ippon di Riner dopo 6'26" di golden score sul nipponico Tatsuru Saito, per il transalpino è la seconda medaglia d'oro a questi Giochi. Riner ha aperto ufficialmente i Giochi insieme a Marie-José Pérec in occasione dell'accensione del braciere olimpico durante la cerimonia di apertura.
