Parigi 2024: Cio utilizzerà intelligenza artificiale per proteggere atleti dagli abusi online

Parigi, 7 mag. (Adnkronos) - Il Comitato Olimpico Internazionale (Cio) utilizzerà un sistema di monitoraggio basato sull'intelligenza artificiale (Ai) per proteggere atleti e funzionari dagli abusi online alle Olimpiadi e Paralimpiadi del 2024 che si terranno a Parigi quest'estate. Il sistema monitorerà migliaia di account su tutte le principali piattaforme di social media e in più di 35 lingue in tempo reale, ha spiegato il Cio. "Qualsiasi minaccia identificata verrà segnalata, in modo che i messaggi offensivi possano essere gestiti in modo efficace dalle piattaforme di social media pertinenti - in molti casi prima ancora che l'atleta abbia avuto la possibilità di vedere l'abuso", ha affermato il Cio. Parigi 2024 segnerà la prima volta che l'intelligenza artificiale verrà utilizzata per fornire spazi online sicuri a un numero così elevato di atleti che gareggiano in così tanti sport contemporaneamente. "Questi sistemi sono in atto in modo che gli atleti possano davvero concentrarsi sulle loro prestazioni, e sanno che tutto il resto è curato", ha affermato Kirsty Burrows, capo dell'unità sportiva sicura del Cio. Le Olimpiadi di Parigi si svolgeranno dal 26 luglio all'11 agosto, mentre i Giochi Paralimpici si terranno dal 28 agosto all'8 settembre.
