L'ex presidente degli Stati Uniti Donald Trump si è dichiarato "un prigioniero politico" dopo essere stato riconosciuto colpevole di tutti i 34 capi di imputazione. E poco dopo il verdetto ha lanciato una campagna rivolta ai suoi sostenitori per la raccolta di fondi in una difesa. "Sono stato appena condannato in un processo manipolato di caccia alle streghe politiche: non ho fatto niente di sbagliato", ha scritto Trump sul sito web delle donazioni repubblicano. "So che con voi al mio fianco riconquisteremo la Casa Bianca e renderemo grande l'America!", aggiunge. E la pagina web della campagna elettorale di Donald Trump destinata alle donazioni finanziarie si è bloccata poco dopo la condanna dell'ex presidente nell'ambito del processo di New York per i pagamenti alla pornoattrice Stormy Daniels. Lo riferiscono i media statunitensi, secondo cui la campagna di Trump ha attribuito il problema tecnico all'improvviso e massiccio afflusso di donazioni da parte dei sostenitori dell'ex presidente. "I cittadini americani riconoscono che questo è un processo farsa montato dal corrotto (presidente) Joe Biden", recita un messaggio pubblicato su X (Twitter) dalla campagna dell'ex presidente. "Così tanti americani sono stati spinti a donare alla campagna del presidente Trump, che le pagine WinRed si sono bloccare. Stiamo lavorando per riportare il sito web online il prima possibile".
