L'Iran ha attaccato Israele con centinaia di missili balistici. È questa la ritorsione, secondo il regime di Teheran, per l'uccisione da parte dell'Idf di Hassan Nasrallah, leader di Hezbollah in Libano, e di Ismayl Haniyeh, al vertice di Hamas, ammazzato a Teheran. Un'ora prima dell'attacco un attentato alla metropolitana di Jaffa ha provocato la morte di sei persone.
