Roma, riapre lo storico Caffè della Pace

L'attesa è finita: per il Caffè della Pace, lo storico locale romano tra piazza Navona e il chiostro del Bramante, in passato punto di ritrovo di Federico Fellini, Mario Monicelli e Giuseppe Ungaretti, e protagonista delle notti capitoline (era aperto fin dal 1891 e ha abbassato le serrande nel 2016), si avvicina il momento della riapertura. Il bar, dopo otto anni di chiusura a causa dei lavori di ristrutturazione nel palazzo, tornerà in attività verso la metà di ottobre. Merito di una nuova proprietà che, una volta ultimati i lavori di restauro, è pronta a dare il via alla seconda vita del locale che ha annoverato tra i suoi clienti, immortalati a bere un cappuccino o sorseggiare un gin tonic, anche Al Pacino, Francis Ford Coppola, Madonna, Sophia Loren e Spike Lee. Il nuovo Caffè della Pace offrirà non solo apertivi, ma anche colazioni e, novità, ristorazione per pranzo e cena. Orario di apertura: dalle 7,30 del mattino alle 2 di notte. La ripartura del Caffè, come sperano i residenti, dovrebbe anche riconsegnare il rione simbolo di Roma al decoro, visto che in tutti questi anni la zona – nell'indifferenza generale - è stata preda di sosta selvaggia e spazzatura.
