Rublev perde e dà di matto: racchetta disintegrata, Barcellona-choc | Video

Un altro raptus nel sempre più irascibile mondo del tennis d'alta classifica. Il russo numero 6 al mondo Andrej Rublev prosegue il suo periodo di crisi nerissima, perde in due set contro l'americano Brandon Nakashima (posizione 87 del ranking Atp, mai al di sopra della 43) ed esce così subito dal Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell (Atp 500 - montepremi 2.782.960 euro) che si disputa sulla terra rossa del Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899, il più antico circolo della capitale della Catalogna. Per Rublev è la quarta sconfitta consecutiva e dalla squalifica a Dubai ha vinto solo un match, a Indian Wells contro lo scozzese Andy Murray. Al termine del match, ha pensato bene di disintegrare la sua racchetta colpendo ripetutamente la terra rossa del campo, letteralmente fuori di sé per la rabbia e la frustrazione. Sempre a Barcellona, il romano Flavio Cobolli non riesce nell'impresa di eliminare Rafa Nadal sull'omonimo campo dedicato al maiorchino. Il numero 62 al mondo cede al 37enne mito di Manacor, attualmente numero 646 del mondo e in gara con il ranking protetto, che si è imposto per 6-2 6-3 Resta dunque Fabio Fognini l'ultimo italiano ad aver battuto Rafa, nella semifinale di Montecarlo 2019, edizione che il ligure poi vinse.
