Sammy Basso: Fontana, 'ha diffuso scienza e valori, maestro di felicità'

Roma, 11 ott. (Adnkronos) - "Prima di iniziare, mi sia consentito rivolgere un pensiero commosso a una persona speciale, un amico, che ci ha lasciato pochi giorni fa: Sammy Basso. Aveva 28 anni. È stato il malato di progèria più longevo al mondo e con la sua vita ha dimostrato un grandissimo spessore. Meno di due anni fa ho avuto il piacere di premiarlo qui alla Camera per il suo instancabile impegno a favore della ricerca, della divulgazione, per aver fatto conoscere al mondo le malattie genetiche rare". Lo ha affermato il presidente della Camera, Lorenzo Fontana, in occasione della cerimonia 'Rai: un grande storia italiana' che si sta svolgendo nel'Aula di Montecitorio per i 100 anni della radio e i 70 della Tv. "Sammy -ha ricordato il presidente della Camera- era uno studioso, un ragazzo di fede, una persona capace di creare empatia, di coinvolgere. Ha saputo costruire una rete internazionale che ha ispirato molti, diffondendo scienza e valori con passione, mostrandosi sempre a tutti con spontaneità. Sempre con un sorriso, con una brillante ironia e una gioia di vivere che contagiava chiunque. Sammy è stato un maestro di felicità. E così lo voglio ricordare, perché Sammy era questo: una persona che amava la vita. Il mio pensiero più affettuoso va ai suoi genitori, che abbraccio con tutto il cuore. Ciao, Sammy, sarai sempre nei nostri cuori".
