Schlein: fermare escalation in Libano, il governo faccia di più

Milano, 30 set. (askanews) - "Seguiamo con grande preoccupazione l'escalation di queste ore in Libano. Chiediamo anche in Libano, come chiediamo da tempo su Gaza, un cessate il fuoco immediato perché bisogna porre fine a questa guerra che Netanhayu sta portando avanti solo per la sua sopravvivenza politica". Lo ha detto la segretaria del Pd Elly Schlein, arrivando alla libreria Feltrinelli di Milano dove presenta il libro "L'imprevista" scritto con Susanna Turco. "Serve che il governo italiano si impegni di più insieme alla comunità internazionale per ottenere un cessate il fuoco e fare finire questa guerra. Tanto più che nel sud del Libano c'è un contingente italiano e quindi noi chiediamo uno sforzo diplomatico e politico davvero più massiccio perché siamo estremamente preoccupati che la regione possa finire in una guerra su larga scala", ha proseguito. "Da mesi chiediamo un cessate il fuoco a Gaza che purtroppo non è arrivato e lì continua un massacro di civili. Un cessate il fuoco serve anche per liberare finalmente tutti gli ostaggi nelle mani dei terroristi di Hamas e per reintraprendere un percorso di pace per il Medio Oriente. Due popoli e due Stati per noi è ancora la soluzione a cui protendere. Sembra la soluzione più lontana ma la politica deve renderla più vicina".
