Shigeru Ishiba sarà il nuovo primo ministro del Giappone

Tokyo, 27 set. (askanews) - L'ex ministro della Difesa giapponese Shigeru Ishiba è stato eletto al ballottaggio leader del Partito liberaldemocratico. Questo lo dovrebbe portare in maniera quasi automatica a ricoprire il ruolo di primo ministro a partire dal primo ottobre. "Farò del mio meglio per credere nelle persone, per dire la verità con coraggio e sincerità e per rendere questo Paese un luogo sicuro e protetto dove tutti possano tornare a vivere con il sorriso sulle labbra", ha detto. Ishiba ha promesso di riportare attorno al partito la fiducia che è stata erosa a causa del recente scandalo di fondi neri per il quale lo stesso premier Fumio Kishida ha annunciato la volontà di non concorrere più per la premiership.
