Sinner soffre ma batte uno strepitoso Berrettini: che battaglia a Wimbledon!

Jannik Sinner vince il derby italiano a Wimbledon valido per il secondo turno del torneo e batte Matteo Berrettini. Il numero uno Atp ha vinto in quattro set 7-6 7-6 2-6 7-6. Per avere la meglio, gli ci sono voluti tre Tie break in un match durato ben 3 ore e 42 minuti. Berrettini, finalista a Londra tre anni fa, gioca alla pari del fenomeno altoatesino. Il risultato è un duello spettacolare. Al prossimo impegno, nel terzo turno del torneo, Sinner affronterà il serbo Miomir Kecmanovic, n.52 Atp, che ha eliminato in cinque set l'olandese Tallon Griekspoor. Il campione altoatesino, a caldo dopo la gara, ha commentato: "Siamo molto amici, a volte ci alleniamo insieme, giochiamo insieme in Davis ed è difficile doversi affrontare qui, al secondo turno, in uno torneo così importante. È stato un match di altissimo livello, ho avuto anche un po' di fortuna nei tre tie-break". E ancora: "Sapevo che avrei dovuto aumentare il mio livello se volevo avere delle chance, lui è uno specialista dell'erba, qui ha giocato una finale: per me era una sfida e sono felicissimo di come ho gestito le situazioni. Ci sono degli alti e bassi in un match, sono soddisfatto". Poi, riferendosi al Centrale di Wimbledon, ha aggiunto: "E' un grande onore giocare qui, in questo stadio così speciale. Vediamo cosa succederà, il sostegno del pubblico è stato fantastico".
