Minimizza Joe Biden. Anzi. Secondo il presidente degli Stati Uniti il confronto in tv con il rivale Donald Trump è stato soddisfacente. Così Biden smorza le preoccupazioni del partito democratico dopo il duello andato in onda sulla Cnn, il primo in vista delle presidenziali di novembre, che ha molto preoccupato i suoi sostenitori. Il presidente infatti è apparso stanco, confuso, spesso imbambolato. Ma lui, incontrando i giornalisti in un locale di Atlanta ha commentato: "Penso che abbiamo fatto bene". Secondo quanto riporta Fox News, quando gli è stato chiesto se avesse qualche timore dopo la sua performance ha risposto: "No, è difficile discutere con un bugiardo, il New York Times ha sottolineato come (Trump ndr) abbia mentito 26 volte. Grandi bugie". Gli è stata anche fatta una domanda sui problemi alla voce emersi durante il dibattito. "Sono malato", ha tagliato corto Biden. Solo un semplice raffreddore. Eppure. Eppure in molti nel partito democratico sostengono che non può essere candidato. Joe Biden dovrebbe fare un passo indietro e ritirarsi dalla corsa per la Casa Bianca, è l'impietosa analisi che Thomas Friedman, uno dei grandi columnist americani, vincitore di tre premi Pulitzer, fa sul New York Times del dibattito di stanotte tra il candidato democratico e Donald Trump. In un editoriale intitolato "Il presidente Biden è mio amico. Deve ritirarsi dalla corsa", Friedman scrive che il dibattito "mi ha fatto piangere. Non riesco a ricordare un momento più straziante nella campagna presidenziale americana nella mia vita".
