Sostenibilità, Novamont: prodotti Mater-Bi con carbon footprint verificata

Roma, 30 set. (Adnkronos) - Uno strumento grazie al quale tutti i manufatti realizzati in Mater-Bi potranno dotarsi di un indice di impatto ambientale verificato. Questo il risultato della collaborazione con Deloitte e con la filiera dei partner commerciali di Novamont, società di Versalis (Eni). Mater-Bi è una famiglia di materiali compostabili e biodegradabili in suolo, in tutto o in parte di origine rinnovabile, realizzati grazie all'integrazione di innovative bioraffinerie europee. Inserendo nel tool tutti i dati di processo connessi con la produzione del singolo manufatto - spiega Novamont in una nota - (utilizzo del Mater-Bi, consumo energetico, idrico, utilizzo mezzi di trasporto, produzione e smaltimento rifiuti, ecc...), le aziende di trasformazione, clienti di Novamont, otterranno un valore che corrisponderà all'impronta di carbonio generata da quel manufatto (sacchetto, imballaggio alimentare, monouso, ecc...) secondo i criteri di calcolo del nuovo strumento sviluppato. Clienti e utilizzatori finali potranno così scegliere i prodotti in Mater-Bi consapevoli del loro impatto ambientale, in linea con gli obiettivi prefissati dalla proposta di Direttiva sui Green Claims sull'affidabilità e verificabilità delle informazioni divulgate dalle aziende sui meriti ambientali dei prodotti e gli obblighi di rendicontazione delle emissioni di scopo 3 previsti dalla Direttiva Europea Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, che entrerà in vigore a gennaio 2025. La verifica del tool da parte di Certiquality completerà lo scopo del progetto, pensato anche per far emergere il valore dei prodotti Novamont sul mercato. I partner commerciali di Novamont, inoltre, sono stati coinvolti in un percorso di formazione per gestire in modo autonomo lo strumento. “Abbiamo sviluppato questo strumento per aiutare i nostri partner ad essere maggiormente competitivi e offrire numeri, ottenuti con uno strumento messo a punto con la collaborazione di un ente terzo, Deloitte, verificabili e quindi affidabili in termini di prestazioni ambientali”, spiega Alessandro Ferlito, direttore commerciale di Novamont.
