Spettacolare blitz della polizia alla Columbia: pugno di ferro contro i pro-Palestin

Ci sarebbero decine di manifestanti arrestati nel Campus della Columbia University. La polizia ha fatto irruzione da una finestra al secondo piano di un edificio dopo che dall'Universita' sarebbe partita una richiesta di intervento, il segnale che gli agenti attendevano dopo aver circondato il campus. La polizia ha l'obiettivo di sgomberare la Hamilton Hall occupata dagli studenti filo-palestinesi che hanno bloccato l'accesso dalle prime ore del mattino di ieri. "Ci rammarichiamo che i manifestanti abbiano scelto di aggravare la situazione attraverso le loro azioni. Dopo che l'Universita' ha appreso durante la notte che Hamilton Hall era stata occupata, vandalizzata e bloccata, non ci e' rimasta altra scelta" ha riferito, il portavoce in una dichiarazione resa nota dalla Cnn. "Il personale di pubblica sicurezza della Columbia - ha proseguito - e' stato costretto a lasciare l'edificio e un membro del nostro team addetto alle strutture e' stato minacciato. Non metteremo a rischio la sicurezza della nostra comunita' per un'ulteriore escalation".
