Berlino, 28 ago. (askanews) - Il premier britannico Starmer ha incontrato il cancelliere tedesco Scholz in un incontro a Berlino, punto di partenza per un nuovo inizio delle relazioni fra Gran Bretagna e Europa dopo la Brexit. I due paesi hanno annunciato un nuovo trattato di cooperazione che riguarda lavoro, scienza, tecnologia, sviluppo, commercio. "Il fatto che oggi abbiamo concordato la sostanza, l'ambizione e i tempi credo sia molto significativo sia per il Regno Unito che per la Germania. Per questo dico che è un'occasione unica per portare avanti qualcosa di questo tipo per entrambi i nostri Paesi". "È inoltre importante per noi sviluppare ulteriormente le relazioni tra l'Unione Europea e la Gran Bretagna - ha sottolineato il cancelliere tedesco Olaf Scholz alla fine del primo incontro bilaterale fra i due leader - Sono lieto che Keir Starmer abbia annunciato che cercherà un nuovo inizio nelle relazioni con l'Unione Europea. Vogliamo afferrare questa mano tesa".
