Stefanini: la verità Usa, Hamas boicotta la pace a Gaza

«Hamas non può e non potrà decidere il futuro di questa regione e della sua gente». Così è infine sbottato il segretario di Stato Usa Antony Blinken in una conferenza stampa a Doha, ultima tappa del suo viaggio nella regione, dopo avere denunciato come Ha mas abbia di fatto boicottato la proposta di cessate il fuoco per Gaza elaborata da Washington, suggerendo numerose modifiche, alcune del tutto impraticabili. E ha spiegato: «C'era sul tavolo un accordo che era praticamente identico alla proposta avanzata da Hamas il 6 maggio, un accordo sostenuto da tutto il mondo che Israele ha accettato. Hamas avrebbe potuto rispondere con una sola parola: sì. Invece ha aspettato quasi due settimane e poi ha proposto ulteriori cambiamenti, molti dei quali vanno oltre le posizioni prese e accettate in precedenza». Provando poi a rassicurare: «Siamo determinati a cercare di colmare le lacune». Una dichiarazione rilasciata con a fianco il primo ministro del Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Paese tradizionalmente vicino proprio all'organizzazione palestinese: impossibile dunque che abbia in qualche modo raccontato una cosa per un'altra. Ma Hamas ha risposto mantenendo la sua consueta doppiezza: «Non abbiamo chiesto cambiamenti rispetto al piano elaborato dall'amministrazione Biden», gli ha risposto un alto funzionario di Hamas in Libano, Osama Hamdan, intervistato dall'emittente televisiva panaraba al-Araby. «La risposta di Hamas e delle fazioni palestinesi alla proposta di tregua è stata responsabile, seria e positiva», insiste Izzat al-Rishq, membro dell'ufficio politico di Hamas. «Le accuse dei media israeliani sulla risposta di Hamas dimostrano i tentativi di proteggere Israele dagli obblighi derivanti dall'accordo», ha detto al-Rishq. Ma, come detto, è lo stesso primo ministro e ministro degli Esteri qatariota che, pur non mancando di dare una scontata colpa anche a Israele, ammette come anche Hamas, grande protetta e foraggiata dal suo governo, sia stata controproducente nel raggiungere un accordo di cessate il fuoco, malgrado secondo lui l'attuale proposta sia la migliore possibile. «Stiamo assistendo a un cambiamento in questo conflitto negli ultimi tempi e c'è un chiaro e fermo appello a porre fine a questa guerra», ha detto alla conferenza stampa che ha tenuto assieme a Blinken. Alla domanda sull'impegno di Israele e Hamas nei confronti dell'attuale proposta, ha detto che entrambe le parti devono ricevere pressioni per raggiungere un accordo, ed entrambi sono stati controproducenti. «È frustrante, molte volte. Abbiamo visto che il comportamento di entrambe le parti in diverse occasioni si è rivelato controproducente per gli sforzi compiuti. Quello a cui miriamo è un obiettivo specifico: porre fine alla guerra, porre fine alle sofferenze della gente, riavere gli ostaggi. E poi penseremo al giorno dopo». Un quadro ancora complicato, dunque. «È difficile prevedere i tempi di una trattativa, lascerei i mediatori lavorare per ridurre le distanze nell'accordo», ne deduce il consigliere alla sicurezza nazionale della Casa Bianca Jake Sullivan, senza sbilanciarsi sui contenuti della risposta di Hamas. Ma due fonti di sicurezza egiziane spiegano che l'organizzazione terroristica palestinese vuole garanzie scritte dagli Stati Uniti per un cessate il fuoco permanente e il ritiro delle forze israeliane dalla Striscia di Gaza, al fine di firmare una proposta di tregua sostenuta dagli Stati Uniti. I leader del G7 chiederanno comunque ad Hamas di accettare l'accordo, secondo una bozza di dichiarazione riportata da Bloomberg. Nel documento, gli alleati esorteranno inoltre Israele ad allentare l'escalation di una «offensiva militare su vasta scala» a Rafah, e potrebbe includere un linguaggio che sollecita tali misure a essere in linea con le indicazioni provvisorie ordinate dalla Corte internazionale di giustizia. «Esortiamo i Paesi che hanno influenza su Hamas» a contribuire per garantire che accetti un cessate il fuoco, afferma la bozza di comunicato G7. Intanto continua la tensione al confine col Libano, con un intensificato lancio di razzi verso Israele dopo l'uccisione di un comandante di Hezbollah. Il governo israeliano non ha ancora deciso se lanciare un attacco militare su vasta scala proprio contro Hezbollah in Libano, ma per il momento continua con uccisioni mirate contro le strutture e gli alti comandanti del gruppo sciita filo-Iran. Lo hanno riferito funzionari dell'esercito al quotidiano Haaretz.
