Tennis: Wimbledon, storica Paolini in finale, Vekic ko in tre set

Londra, 11 lug. (Adnkronos) - E' stato il tie-break del terzo set a decidere la prima finalista del singolare femminile di Wimbledon. L'azzurra Jasmin Paolini è la prima storica, per l'Italia, finalista nello Slam londinese. La numero 7 del mondo si è imposta dopo una gara di grande sofferenza sulla croata Donna Vekic, numero 37 Wta, in tre set in rimonta con il punteggio di 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (10-8). La Paolini dopo aver perso il primo parziale, dominato da Vekic in 35 minuti, per 6-2, reagisce in un secondo set equilibrato, deciso dal break nel decimo gioco, per 6-4. Partita di sofferenza e sempre all'inseguimento per la Paolini che nel terzo e decisivo set passa avanti con la Vekic che annulla il primo match point per la Paolini sul 5-4 det terzo. Poi la croata annulla un secondo match point sul 6-5, ma alla terza occasione sul 9-8 al tie-break del set decisivo l'errove della Vekic regala la gioia più grande alla tennista italiana.
